Finca El Esparragal

Almogia (Málaga) España

Almogía is a sleepy mountain village of the past, rich in its history and traditions.
Overdevelopments of the Spanish coastal towns and villages as well as the rush of the cities and holiday places, persuate many travelers and foreign residents to leave behind the chaos and the traffic of the coasts and to aim inland.
Situated only 23 kilometres from Malaga, Almogía has the perfect location for all that seek peace and tranquillity, yet might occasionaly wish to visit the coast, the sea or the towns. Everything is within a reasonable distance to Almogía. The international airport of Malaga is only half an hour away, as are the major shopping malls and the nearest coastline. Malaga's giant football stadium hosts international games, many cinemas play motion pictures in your native language and the foreign communitities of hidden mountain villages grow.
Weather and the short distance to the main tourist resorts, yet its high mountainous position, play the main role in the popularity of Almogía.
Summers can be extremely hot and winters are mild, but chilly, with some rain and cold winds. Spring is the nicest time of the year, when it is pleasantly warm, even hot through the day, and one can enjoy swimming, yet evenings are cool, and it is still possible to sleep without an air-conditioning. Through the winters a good supply of wood for your fireplace or wood burning stove is necessary, yet the show of the almonds in bloom lets you forget all about the night chills... and summers leave you exhausted and wishing for some cooling down. Autumn is also pleasant in its steady temperatures.
