The administrative and commercial centre of the Ortegal region is situated in the town of Santa Marta. The topography in this borough is extremely varied. The A Capelada and A Faladoira mountains are not particularly high, as their highest peaks are situated next to the sea. They do however a sharp contrast with the area around the tidal estuary, whith height of less than 100 metres. Visitors will therefore be able to admire a coastline made up of gentlyshelving beaches of sheer cliffs, where the action of the wind and sea has formed unusual shapes in the rocks. |
